This is Lucy. She is a 10-month old bundle of joy. She came into this world 9 weeks early in March of 2009. Lucy is named after Lucy Pevensie who is a character in C. S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia. In those stories, Lucy is able to see Aslan and follow him in times of difficulty. We named our daughter Lucy because we hope she will see the Lord’s face and follow him (Psalm 27:8).
Lucy is pictured above with her 4 brothers and sisters. They all think she’s great, and she thinks they’re pretty good too. Lucy has been a cardiac patient since February 1, 2010. We are grateful for your prayers.
Praising God with you for each day and each piece of news about positive progress. We continue to pray for you all. With much love, rooted in His, Steff and gang
Hi Guys,
My name is Jaime, we have never met… but I used to work with Catherine for IBLP years ago! When I saw this note to pray for Lucy my heart immediately went out to you and your family. I have two little girls 2 and 4, they have such a heart for your daughter whom we have never met and pray fervently for her day and night. I wanted you to know that your sweet precious Lucy is being help up in prayer by many in New York as we’ve also been praying for her as a church body. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and your little girl and give you His peace.
In His love,
Jaime Dufek
I am a friend of Lucy’s grandmother Susan. I am so saddened to hear about what is going on with Lucy. I will be praying. God is in control and on His throne.

Hi, I’m a friend of apparently one of David Doyle’s friends on facebook. On my updates, it showed that my friend had made a comment on a picture of Lucy that he had posted and it made me tear up. I’m a mother of 2 girls (14 months and 3 months). My youngest was a preemie and seeing the picture of Lucy reminded me of the weeks I spent with my daughter in ICU and it brought me to tears. It also reminded me of a scriptures I repeated to myself during that time that my baby Breanna was in JPS.
John 10:10 The thief comes ONLY to steal, to kill, and to destroy, but I come to give you life and give you life in abundance!
John 14: 12 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father. 13 And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
I will continuously pray for Lucy and all of your family. I’m believing that God will make something great come of this hardship that your family faces. I’m not too far. Even though I’m a perfect stranger, I feel for you. If your family needs anything, feel free to email me.
Your friend in Christ,
Sara
Dear Jarretts,
We are so sorry and my heart is breaking for you. Our prayers are with you. Love, The Covington’s
Sitting here in my office looking at Facebook this morning, and I see a mutual friend post the latest post on Lucy. Oh, how my heart broke! John and I have been wondering where the Jarrett’s have been…this is our answer (and not one that anyone would want to receive!). James, Katie, Abby, Robbie, Corrie, Amos, and Baby Lucy – YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS! If there is ANYTHING that we can do for you, please let us know! We are right next door.
John 14:1-3
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
In Him,
Chasity
Like thousands, maybe millions, we are praying for Lucy to recover to full health and for strenght and care for her and for each of you Jarretts.
When God says His ways are not our ways, it is so difficult to comprehend this fact, particullary in circumstances such as these present times.
May our God be your Rock in all circumstances.
“Fear not, nor be afraid, have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are My witnesses! Is there a God besides Me? There is no Rock, I know not any.” Isaiah 44

We are so sorry to hear about Lucy being so sick. We will be praying for her, and for your family. Having a sick family member in the hospital is hard on the family, but knowing how strong the Jarrett Family faith is, we’re sure you have a good support system in place for you two and your other children. We will be praying for the blessing of a good report, and total healing – and that it’s done by God in a way, that no one can dispute that Jesus’ hand was involved in the healing.

I’m a childhood friend of your mother, Susan. I talked with her at church this morning and learned of your sweet Lucy’s illness. I too had a preemie grandchild in ICU for months. It is a frightening time and yet I read of your faith and know who you are trusting. I am praying for Lucy now and every day ahead. Know that she is always in our Father’s everlasting arms as are we. I love the picture of His arms underneath us and there we are always safe. Much love to your family from me, Lynn

Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
i know that God has a plan for lucy and all you can do is trust! im praying for you guys!
Lucy’s struggles break my heart but yet Katie’s postings continue to keep my mind focused on the Lord and the hope that his plan, whatever it may be, will be fulfilled. I pray also that you as parents are given the strength to keep your faith strong. We are human and the human emotions can be so powerful and weakening. Katie’s beautifully written posts are so poignant, reminding all of us that God is standing with you.
I also pray that your other children are given the strength and wisdom to understand everything that they are experiencing and witnessing.
In God’s love all of you are in my prayers.
I am Misty Broome’s aunt. She told me about little Lucy this evening and I just wanted you to know that there will be many people in East Texas praying for your precious little one. May God in His infinite mercy bring healing to her and peace, hope and courage to you, her family.
Dear Lucy,
I have had the honor of meeting you and wanted you to know that you and all of your family are in my deepest prayers. Although I barely know you, when I look at pictures of you, I feel like I am close to you. You have such a sweet spirit and a pure soul. Your smile lights up a room and I pray for you. Hold strong sweet baby.
